About Meraki
Meraki Allied Health is a small company with a focus on providing individualised services to our clients, their families and caregivers.
With a special interest in working with children and families, our offices are based in both Secret Harbour and Gosnells, with assessment services offered at Secret Harbour and High Wycombe.
We currently provide Psychology, Play Based Therapy, Positive Behaviour Support and Autism, ADHD and Cognitive assessments.
At Meraki, we implement a Neuro-affirming model to all therapeutic services. This means we use a strengths-based approach focusing on the goals of the client, whilst embracing their uniqueness.
Our services
Play based Therapy
Our dedicated therapists draw from the Child Centred Play Therapy (CCPT) framework and principles to provide play based therapies to children. Play based therapies support children to learn about themselves and their world. When children feel sad, worried or troubled about an event or incident they may not be able to talk about their feelings like adults do - instead, children communicate through their play.
Play based therapy for children is a professional therapeutic process that uses play as the medium for the child to “talk” about their feelings, much like an adult does when they see a psychologist. Play therapy tools are specifically selected toys and play materials which facilitate play communication so that the child may easily manipulate them in their own way and at their own pace.
Positive Behaviour Support
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is designed to support clients, their family members and caregivers to make environmental changes that enable the individual to build upon their strengths and ensure their needs are met.
PBS services that we provide include:
- Behaviour Support Assessment and Functional Behaviour Assessment
- Behaviour Support Plan development
- Behaviour Support Plan Implementation, including training for parents, caregivers and stakeholders
- Letters of recommendation.
Psychology
Meraki provides Psychological counselling to children and their caregivers, adolescents, and adults. Our dedicated therapists will work alongside you to identify individual goals, and support you in achieving them. All services are tailored to the needs of the client and focus on the concerns presented by the individual.
Psychology services we provide include:
- Privately funded
- Medicare Mental Health Care Plans
- Psychological capacity building (NDIS).
Assessments
Meraki provides Autism assessments across the lifespan, and ADHD and Cognitive assessments for children aged 6 and above, and adults. Assessments are completed by knowledgeable psychologists at our Secret Harbour office or High Wycombe space.
